Great job getting Maisy to the point where she trusts you in very scary situations. It's really a testament to the bond you have built.Anitanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1101438868458660054.post-34264687627402408032010-08-19T08:27:26.190-05:002010-08-19T08:27:26.190-05:00I am quite lucky to have a good class available (a...I am quite lucky to have a good class available (and, in fact, there's another good one in the area, too). I'm even luckier that my current trainer is also a friend- I truly enjoy her company, which always makes it more pleasurable.

I don't think the fact that Maisy came running just as I was about to rescue her means much beyond the fact I've learned to read her body language pretty darn well. Now if only I could read other dogs as well!

And of course, I'm thrilled with her. Always so proud of her. :)Crystal (Thompson) Barrerahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01738188430244886019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1101438868458660054.post-65463791188182374072010-08-19T01:58:33.759-05:002010-08-19T01:58:33.759-05:00aw, that actually bought a tear to my eye! well do...aw, that actually bought a tear to my eye! well done Maisy and well done you for all your hard work.Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13976652630852160970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1101438868458660054.post-24465399118569972662010-08-18T21:54:40.130-05:002010-08-18T21:54:40.130-05:00yay Maisy!!!!! You have done awesome...Yay maisy and Yay crystal!!! You have done awesome work with her and she is doing awesome work in return. I hope and hope that I can get to the trusting place with my maizey someday.

I'm sure you know how fortunate you are to have a good reactive dog class to work with. I have looked and looked and only found one I felt *may* be okay for my little girl. We do have a good trainer that is helping, but I wonder if a class would help too.

It is awesome maisy had a good experience with kids and as one handler/mom to another I must say props to you for knowing when to pull her out, even if she ended up doing it for herself! I know how hard it is to be constantly alert for your pup and it is awesome that now she knows what to do to keep herself with in her own limits.

It's interesting that she chose the moment you had read as time to "rescue" her to rescue herself. Do you think there is meaning there? Like she felt the threshold you could see approaching for her and she chose to back away before she crossed it?

You are so much better than I am at expressing these things, I hope that makes any sense at all.

BTW congrats on the 100th post. That's pretty awesome. I didn't enter the contest due to my being gone and out of internet range;) when you announce the winner, but that is the cutest tag and a cool idea for 100th post. Keep going we want to see the 200th!
:)Katie and MaizeyKatie, Meeka and Maizeyhttp://www.lessonsfrom4legs.comnoreply@blogger.com
